Exhibition Details:

Arvida Byström’s research focuses on concepts such as body, identity and self-representation.

Employing a hyper-feminine, “girly” aesthetic she is using several digital techniques to discuss bodily perception and social dynamics in relation to new media. Her visual images interpret and challenge visual languages and the norms that are reinforced by means of virtual, commercial and social interaction.

With her performative productions, she looks at how platforms have revolutionized how we present ourselves in social media and have given us possibilities of multiple identities, something that also reflects itself in art.

Photographer's Bio:

(Sweden, 1991) Byström is a multidisciplinary artist, mainly known as a photographer and model, but who also makes music. She is based between Los Angeles, London and Stockholm.
