Artphilein Editions is a Swiss publishing house established in 2013 with a specific focus on creating photography-based books. The Artphilein photobooks explore themes related to the convergence of humanity and the environment, examining ongoing societal and territorial shifts. The publications delve also into subjects such as personal narratives, providing intimate perspectives on contemporary Issues.

Départ Pour L'Image is an independent publishing lab based in Milan, founded in 2018 by photographer Francesca Todde and artist Luca Reffo. Its name comes from the inscription stamped on the film of some French movies useful to indicate their verso for reel-to-reel assembly and cinema projection. The editorial line focuses on the possibilities of the image on the border between photography and contemporary art, working in close collaboration with the artists. Occasionally, Départ Pour L'Image also curates exhibitions.

Disko Bay is an independent photobook publisher based in Copenhagen. We work closely together with photographers, designers and print makers to curate and craft unique books in limited print runs. Our aim is to promote Danish photography on the international scene and in the realm of photobooks. Disko Bay was founded in 2018 by Stinus Duch as the first dedicated photobook publisher in Denmark.

Giostre Editions is an independent publishing house dedicated to the promotion of young photography. Active for three years, it boasts six publications by authors under 35 from Italy and abroad. The desire is to give voice to contemporary communicative urgency.

Havaiana Papers is an independent distribution platform that has been supporting the circulation of photography books from Brazil and other Latin American countries since 2017. Havaiana Papers integrators participate in publication fairs bringing fresh, tropical and interesting titles on both sides of the Atlantic. Outside of the temporary events, Havaiana Papers’ European “embassy” is located at Tiratura, an independent space in Ravenna dedicated to visual storytelling, publishing and sustainable printing.

Muddyisland is an independent publishing house founded in 2021 by Pierfrancesco Celada to produce and promote his personal artistic projects. Muddyisland was born on a small island in the South China Sea and currently operates from Murano island.

Founded in 2023 by Mathias Benguigui and Théo Miller, Saetta Books is an independent publishing house based in Paris. It supports contemporary artistic practices, at the crossroads of visual arts and literature, political and poetic fields. These works take various forms, from book design to exhibitions. Creating a dialogue between different media, approaches and visions, Saetta aims to share stories and forms which question our reading habits and our assumptions about images. Intraccià by photographer Kamil Zihnioglu is Saetta Books’ first publication.

Safelight Paper is a platform for Slow photography. Based in Berlin, the magazine aims to lead photography back to its mindful roots and inspire artists to explore new perspectives through more personal, substantial and meaningful projects, placing the story at the center. Safelight Paper is creating a space for new talent exploring relevant issues, both on a personal and collective level, including all type of photography.

Witty Books is an independent publishing house that aims to promote contemporary photography and visual arts. Our mission focuses on the diffusion and education of the images. Witty books was founded in 2012 with the name of Witty Kiwi by Tommaso Parrillo.
